Hello,
My name is Nina Tucciarelli. I am a renter in Bozeman. I have lived here with my familysince 2008. I am a worker, a parent, and an artist who continuously supports small businesses,
nonprofits, and our thriving arts scene here in Bozeman. I am also an ally of our queercommunity and proudly support members of my family and my friends who identify as
LGBTQI+. This is why it’s important to me for Bozeman to display the Pride flag. It showssupport of our community members, our family members, and our friends. It’s a symbol of
welcoming to those who are being persecuted for no other reason than being their authenticselves.
From the moment I arrived here back in 2008, I immediately fell in love with this town and itssense of camaraderie and also its sense of safety amongst this gorgeous landscape. No matter
your beliefs or your differences, you could always find a welcoming smile all over town. Forme, Bozeman has always been a place of kindness.
Which is why now more than ever Bozeman needs to stand up and let this state and countryknow that its strength is in its people and about coming together. Hate has no place here and
remaining neutral is not an option when members of our community are in need of oursupport. The Pride flag is a symbol of positivity. It’s a symbol of inclusion. It lets queer people
know that they can safely grow up here, they can attend school here, they can set down rootsand build their lives here with dignity. It lets me, my family, my friends, and all of our
neighbors know that we will always be welcomed here.
We are all different. We are all unique. And we must continue to strive to be kind to everyone.
This is what makes our community so beautiful and so vibrant. This is what continues to makeBozeman so magical. I urge you, the city commission, to approve the Pride flag as an official
city flag.
Thank you for your time,
Nina Tucciarelli
