I am against a proposal to make the lgbt flag the Bozeman city flag.
First, this would go against Federal policy. Second, this flag does not represent me, or anyone I know; the lgbt
community is very small compared to the majority of people in this city and I believe a city flag should be morally
neutral, not one that condones a particular behavior.
While there are people who live in Bozeman who are of the lgbt community, Bozeman is not an “lgbt city.” People
are so very tired of this type of wokeness and having this kind of thing shoved in our faces. It’s frankly offensive
and this type of flag has no place flying over our city. If someone wants to hang this flag on their private property
or business, that’s one thing and that is their decision, but to make this a city flag is just totally out of line and out of
touch with the larger Bozeman community.
How about a city flag that says, “Bozeman,” and has mountains on it? Or, does that make too much common
sense?
Thank you,
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson
