We believe that you genuinely care for thepeople of our region. I’m writing in opposition to the proposition of making the LGBTQ+ flag our city flag.I grew up in Bozeman and now I am raising my family here. Part of what makes Bozeman so unique and wonderful is that you can walk down the street and smile at a stranger without everknowing that, that individual is perhaps a billionaire or maybe homeless. You can have a lovely exchange of hellos and goodbyes and never know the sexual orientation of anindividual, or their religious background. Those moments of connection have nothing to do with political, sexual, financial, or religious tendencies. They are connections of seeing one another as people! This is a principle we are raising our children with. See the person in front of you as someone worthy of love and connectionwhether or not you know or agree with their perspectives. Flying the flag of any particular ppl group or belief system, while the intention may seem good, becomes a divisive symbol to ourcommunity. It doesn’t encourage connection, it causes focus on one particular view point while excluding anything opposing. Bozeman is a place where you can be whomever youwant and live freely regardless off status or belief. Let’s keep it that way. Thank you for your time and considering this position. -Katie Isely Bison trail Bozeman, MT 59718
