Dear Bozeman City Commissioners,
My name is Kelsey Doll. I am a Bozeman resident and a Nurse Practitioner at BridgercareClinic. I am writing to urge you to adopt the Rainbow Pride Flag as an official emblem of
the city. As a Nurse Practitioner, I provide direct care for many LGBTQ+ Bozemancommunity members, and I see firsthand the harmful impact that anti-LBGTQ laws,
policies, and rhetoric have on mental health, physical health, and overall well-being.Research is clear that social support and inclusive policies improve health outcomes in
LGBTQ+ individuals, including reducing risk for depression and suicide. Adopting thePride Flag is not exclusionary; rather, it signifies to our community that all people are
acknowledged, welcomed, and respected in our community. I find it increasinglyimportant to take this opportunity to show our support of ALL our community members,
especially during this time when hate is often the message from our leaders andpoliticians in power. This would be such a simple way for our community to show its
support for our LGBTQ+ and BIPOC friends, colleagues, and neighbors.
Thank you for your consideration,
Kelsey Doll, AGPCNP-BC
