Dear City Commissioners,
I have lived in Bozeman for the last twenty-nine years and own a business here. According to
your website, your mission is: "Integrity, leadership, service, and teamwork are the core values
of our organization and provide a framework for our employees, community volunteers and
citizens". The city is bulging at the seams and is in need of many upgrades. I suggest that you
stick to your mission and do the work that will benefit, rather than undermine the city.
Why are you wasting your (and many residents') time on this ridiculous proposal to change
our flag. There are so many wonderful things about the city of Bozeman, and frankly, they are
represented on our current flag. A city flag should represent the best attributes of a city. I
have no idea who or what brought about this proposal to change the flag to represent a small
group's sexual preferences, but I don't think that it represents the purpose or the majority of
Bozeman residents. Is that really what we have devolved into. Flying a sexual preference flag
over our city offices... REALLY? I want you to know that I STRONGLY oppose the use of
LGTBQ+ Flag as our City Flag. It does not represent the majority or the best of our community.
It represents an entitled few who want to push the acceptance of their perversion upon the
rest of us. My vote is a strong NO!
Most Sincerely,
Jeff Smith
