Dear Council, I was born and raised here in Bozeman and am a firm believer that our city flag should represent all residents of the city, and not give preferential treatment to one individual groupor social class. If it is your wish to select a preferred group, organization or social class, then why are you not opening the discussion up to others? Do you not think the indigenous peopledeserve to have their flag flown? What about Farmers? Teachers? Construction works? Ect. ect. How do we know which group actually represents the most residents of Bozeman? Byselecting one single group and giving them preferential treatment, you are making this a political statement and not a statement about our actual community and your actualconstituents. Frankly, I believe this is a waste of your time and our valuable resources. However, if you are going to consider selecting one individual group, I ask that you open theprocess up to all and have a well vetted and thoughtful process of selecting a new flag to truly represent all of the residents of the City of Bozeman. Respectfully, -- D. Carson Cowles IV 2276 Snow Flake Ct Bozeman 59715Cowlesdc@gmail.com
