Regarding the meeting to discuss and have public comments on including the Pride flag as the new city flag I have
several thoughts on how inclusion of this flag would be a serious miscarriage of justice. We have a US Constitution
and a Montana Constitution that gives the law on this and you might want to consider both and whether your City
Commission even has the right to make changes to our city flag. I know other communities in our state are
considering the possibility or approval of inclusion but this precedence does not make it lawful and I believe the
purpose of the commission in general is not to be a social organizer.
I am opposed to the inclusion. It suggests that we are a community that emphasizes sex in all alternate forms as who
we are and I don’t believe Bozeman citizens for the most part want to be included as LGBTalt ect. If the city
commission does conclude that we need this new flag then it must also consider many other new flags that will most
certainly be brought before the city.
It is unfortunate that there is a group of people who do not recognize that we have an American Flag, established in
our history to include all people under God who live in this country and call themselves citizens. And along the way
various groups have been established for their enjoyment and so I would suggest that the pride people might
consider purchasing or renting a building for their club and placing their flag on it for all members to join together
and enjoy a place to feel safe.
Please vote this down and move on.
Respectfully,
