Commissioners,
My name is Chloe Georgeton. I was born and raised in Bozeman and am a Family Nurse Practitionerat Bridgercare for the past 5 years. I am writing to urge you to adopt the Pride Flag as an officialemblem of the city. As a Nurse Practitioner I provide direct care for many LGBTQ+ communitymembers, and I see firsthand the harmful impact that anti-LBGTQ laws, policies, and rhetoric has onmental health, physical health, and overall well-being. Research is clear that social support andinclusive policies improve health outcomes in LGBTQ+ individuals, including reducing risk fordepression and suicide. Adopting the Pride Flag is not exclusionary; rather, it signifies to ourcommunity that all people are acknowledged, welcomed, and respected in our community. Thiswould be such a simple way for our community to show its support for our LGBTQ+ and BIPOCfriends, colleagues, and neighbors.
Thank you for your consideration in this important matter.
Sincerely,
Chloe Georgeton
