The city of Bozeman should not elevate one group above any other. This would be the outcome of declaring the
Pride Flag, and its variants, to be official flags of the city. There is no mention of declaring the heterosexual flag
(which exists) as an official city flag. Why not? Why is sexual orientation being considered as key to leading and
joining the people of a city? This is nothing more than an attempt to announce to the country that Bozeman is
governed by individuals who wish to prioritize some groups over others, the mission of leading a diverse population
and bringing them together be damned. This is the blueprint used by Portland, Oregon, a city in a horrible
downward spiral. Imagine the impact if our city leaders took the bold action of acknowledging everyone by not
approving the proposed resolution and stating such. I challenge the city to bring communities together instead of
splitting them apart. The best path forward rarely is easy.
