As a person of faith, I believe every person is created with dignity and should be treated with love and respect. But I
also believe our state flag is meant to represent all Montanans—not promote one movement, ideology, or group
over another. Scripture calls us to unity, not division. When a government symbol becomes political, it stops being a
banner for all and becomes one of sides. That’s not love—that’s exclusion. We’re called to speak truth in love, and
part of that truth is standing up when something doesn’t reflect the whole. A Pride flag may represent some, but
not all. It does not belong as a city or state emblem. I’m asking our city council to vote no—not out of hate, but out
of a desire to keep our public symbols neutral, inclusive, and focused on what unites us. I believe we can honor
every person without rewriting the symbols that were never meant to carry an agenda.
