Dear Members of the Bozeman City Commission, I respectfully oppose the proposal to designate the Pride flag as an
official city flag. While I fully support the rights and dignity of all individuals, official symbols should represent the
entire community in a neutral and unifying way. The Pride flag holds significant meaning for many, and its display
during commemorative events is appropriate. However, elevating it to official status risks politicizing our civic
symbols and may lead to calls for additional identity-based flags, which could create division rather than unity.
Bozeman’s commitment to inclusion is best demonstrated through policy, programs, and community engagement,
not through official symbols that may not reflect the broad consensus of all residents. I urge the Commission to
consider the long-term implications of this decision. Thank you for your service.

Thank you,
City Of Bozeman
