To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to advocate on behalf of the historical neighbors in Bozeman, specifically the Centennial Park
neighborhood. The historic neighborhoods in this town are so limited and special it is painful to see the needs of
developers trump the character provided by these neighborhoods. Character means individuality, ambiance, essence,
uniqueness, identity. In short simply having qualities. These areas are so small relative to all of Bozeman. Do we
really have no other choice than to allow developers to strip these qualities in order to maximize profit? New trees
do not replace old trees, scale of buildings matters, crowded uniform building detract. I support adopting R-A
zoning in these neighborhoods. Character and community are why I chose Bozeman just nine months ago. I likely
cannot afford to buy in these neighborhoods but they are essential to the realness of this town. I have seen so many
other towns cave to the pressure, I’m hoping to find a home that can stand up to profits and choose people first.
