Dear Bozeman City Commission,
I am writing as a resident and concerned community member regarding the proposal to adoptthe Pride flag as the official city flag of Bozeman.
A city flag should unite all residents under a symbol that reflects our shared history, geography, and values—rather than align with any specific political or social movement,
however well-intentioned.
Bozeman is a diverse and inclusive city with a broad spectrum of beliefs and identities.
Choosing a flag that represents one particular group may inadvertently signal exclusion toothers. I believe a city flag should be neutral, representative of all citizens, and based on
symbols unique to Bozeman's heritage and identity.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
