Dear Commissioners:
My name is Dianne Ostermiller, and I have been a resident of Bozeman since 1971 and a
homeowner since 1976. It has come to my attention that a proposal has been submitted to the
City Commission to adopt the Pride flag as the official City of Bozeman flag. I feel that our
current City flag is representative of our community in its entirety, is non-political, and is non-
discriminatory. I oppose this proposal because it does not represent inclusivity; but rather,
represents a small portion of our community. I believe that a city flag should be broad in
scope, not represent any specific group or organization, and reflect some of the history and
great attributes of our city. Our current flag does exactly that. Bozeman is a great city with
diversity, culture, education, and opportunities that abound for its residents. Let's keep it that
way and keep our current flag that represents our community as a whole. I respectfully
request that you vote no on this proposal.
Sincerely,
Dianne Ostermiller
