I am against this for the following reasons: 1. Wetlands - These are sanctuaries for a lot of birds in the area. They have already been displaced with all of the other wetland removal in the area. 2. Infrastructure/ jobs/ amenities/water - Harper Puckett nor Baxter roads are appropriate for that influx of residents. Williams homes is far from complexation on their development and that will already put strain on these roads. The city also needs to figure out a solution to the water problem before annexing any additional areas. 3. There is plenty of opportunity in city limits for this high density living already. 4. There are a lot of uninhabited apartments/ high density living currently available in Bozeman (free rent, lowering of rent, etc). Just because the high density annexation might give investors the best bang for their buck doesn't mean that is what Bozeman needs/ wants. I think the current owners will annex it and sell the land to the highest bidder. This is just value addition for the property regardless of what the city wants. I understand this is investment property for them, but this isn't what Bozeman needs and the land was never promised to be annexed in. The residents of Bozeman are trusting you to make the best decisions for this area. We want at least parts of Bozeman to be a place people want to live. I know Bozeman is expensive, but there are appropriate places and not appropriate places to put this type of living. Downtown/7th/19th are the more appropriate places for this type of living. Just because N.E.N.A is opposing rezoning downtown doesn't mean it isn't the most appropriate place for this high density living. If the city isn't going to oppose these burdens downtown then it shouldn't try to force other areas to accept it either. The lumber yard is in a very appropriate area and that isn't even occupied yet. That is in a great location with the appropriate infrastructure to support that type of living. And maybe Bozeman will need high density in this area I think it is too early to determine if it is appropriate yet or not. Planning right is better then rushing to approve these items. Growing organically and having the right infrastructure in place will benefit the city in the long run. Keep this a town people want to live in. 5. Put the people of Bozeman first and not developers. Thank you for hearing my side and taking it into consideration, Bozeman native
