Dear Bozeman City Commission, As a 4th generation Montanan and a resident of Bozeman for 40 years, I urge you to adopt the Pride flag as an official city flag. Our community deserves to have the Pride flag flown toshow our and visitors to our town that Bozeman is a place that supports exactly what the Pride flag stands for: Love, Safety, and Belonging. I remember when Matthew Shepard was murdered in Laramie, not too far down the road fromus. Since then, Bozeman has been mostly supportive of our LGBTQ+ community and we should continue our support, despite the cruel, unconstitutional law that our Governor recentlysigned. When state policy targets specific communities, local leaders have a duty to respond with integrity and courage. Bozeman should follow Missoula's lead and do the same. I wasvery proud of Missoula when I learned that they officially adopted the Pride flag. I would like to feel the same way about my own town of Bozeman. I am disappointed to learn that this agenda item has been removed from the July 8th agenda. Please return this important item to the agenda and do the right thing by flying the Pride flag. It's not political; it's humane! Wishing you courage, Darla M Timmons 1215 Durston Rd Apt 215Bozeman, MT 59715
