Dear Mayor Cunningham, Deputy Mayor Morrison and Commissioners:
This is in reference to the proposal of adopting the so-called "Pride" flag as an official city flag
and to remind the Commission that Bozeman's government is to be neutral and representativeof ALL residents; that their focus should be on essential services like infrastructure and public
safety - not on gender identity issues. You were elected to work on city topics, not to push andadopt LBGTQ agendas.
Let me be clear in stating that government neutrality is not hate - it's fairness. Public property
and city flags should not be used to promote identity-based or political causes. Bozeman'sfocus should be on essential services, not symbolic activism.
This is not okay and this isn't unity if the city adopts the LBGTQ pride flag and it is not
representative of every citizen of the city of Bozeman. The American Flag and the MontanaState Flag are appropriate flags because they represent freedom. And that is enough.
Thank you for your consideration of my comments and attention to this matter.
