As a member of Pilgrim UCC which is an Open and
Affirming congregation in Bozeman, I write to express
my strong support for the City of Bozeman to officially
adopt the Pride flag as one of the recognized city flags.
I am proud to be part of a vibrant, growing community-
one that values inclusion, kindness and belonging.
These values aren't just good for our congregation but
all who live in Bozeman. Inclusive communities like
Bozeman, attract return workers, welcome tourists and
foster innovation. When people feel safe and seen,
they thrive and so do I.
I am proud to be a local church member that displays
the Pride flag to further demonstrate that we respect
and welcome all of our community members. I
understand that the Pride flag affirms dignity,
belonging, and visibility for people who have historically
been excluded. For me this is not political-it's humane.
I respectively urge the Bozeman City Commision to
adopt the Pride flag as an official city flag as a
commitment to equality and as a visible reminder that
this is a community where everyone-no matter who
they love or how they identify-is welcomed, valued, and
respected.
With Pride
Katherine Kelly
