To those involved in this project
As a resident of Baxter West subdivision, I’m writing to ask you to please reconsider the
zoning for this new development. While I understand Bozeman growth is essential, the densityproposed does not align with the area. Please consider zoning this area for shorter buildings
and lower density and work to keep developers local. The Baxter Meadows subdivision wasdeveloped at a time of Bozeman’s history with similar intentions to provide housing at a lower
price point on the edges of town. The houses were close together but allowed people toactually buy homes where they could begin their lives. It has become wonderful neighborhood
with a good balance of single and multi-dwelling homes, with larger lots on the west part ofthe development and care toward view and open space. Let’s work to find ways to make
housing happen for young people who both want to invest in their lives here and rather thanoverpriced rentals that benefit out of state developers. Recent reporting suggests the efforts
Bozeman has made to increase rental properties has begun to level out raising rates—let’s looktoward developing areas where young adults and start to build their own investments and
homes for future generations rather than developments aimed at raising the wealth of peoplewho don’t live in these homes.
Please and thank you,
Bridget Ashcraft 2444 Thoroughbred Lane
