Dear Bozeman City Commissioners, I have lived in Bozeman since 2002 and now am a mother of two young Bozeman natives. We live on the east side of town. I am a mental health therapist with 20 years of experience. Bozeman has always been a wonderful community to live in and it is why I’ve chose to raisemy so sons here. It is my hope that whoever my sons evolve into being, whoever they choose to love, whoever they are at their very core will be supported and safe in their homecommunity. The pride flag is a symbol of safety and acceptance for all of us, not just the LGBTQIA, but all of us. As long as one group is marginalized, or feels unsafe, we all suffer. We must support our neighbors, our coffee shop baristas, our school teachers, our therapist, our construction workers no matter their orientation or gender identify, it is the only way tohave a truly functioning community. We must not let fear and hate drive our community legislation, it is a dead end road and not what I’ve known and loved about Bozeman. I wantall children to see the PRIDE flag flying so they know they can be just as they are, safely and supported, in their home town. VOTE for our community to be one of safety and support rather than hatred and fear. Keepflying the PRIDE flag.
