To whom it may concern,
The city courthouse is meant to be a symbol of unity, justice, and representation for all
citizens, regardless of class, gender, race, or creed. Flying the Pride flag, or any flag thatrepresents a specific group or ideology, risks creating division rather than inclusion. The
American flag already stands for freedom and equality for all, and it should remain thesingular emblem on government buildings. When one group is given prominence due to its
activism or visibility, it opens the door for countless other organizations and causes to demandthe same treatment, turning a space meant for impartial governance into a platform for
selective representation. Government symbols and spaces should remain neutral, representingevery citizen equally rather than elevating one voice above the collective.
