To Whom this may concern,
We already have a flag- why would we change it? What percentage of the community is
a pride member?
Changing our city flag to support a very small group is a mistake-
Some community members may view the official adoption of a Pride flag by a town as
more than just a symbol of support for LGBTQ+ individuals—they may see it as the town
endorsing a particular set of social or political beliefs. While the Pride flag represents
inclusion and support for many, others may interpret it as aligning with specific cultural
movements or political agendas that they do not personally agree with. In small
communities, where residents often have close ties and diverse worldviews, this can
lead to feelings of exclusion or concern that the local government is favoring one
viewpoint over others. As a result, what is intended as a symbol of unity and acceptance
might instead spark controversy or deepen divisions, especially if the decision is made
without broad community dialogue or consensus.
Bozeman has been changing and not for the better. Please leave things the way they are.
Thank you,
John Satterwhite
