Mayor Cunningham started the city commission meeting with an FYI about political discourse in which he had a line about leading by example, "what's the solution? We need to lower thetemperature, we need to resist the temptation to fall into behaviors that divide us, pull us apart, and pit citizens against citizens to score a cheap victory on social media" I believe that the city of Bozeman adopting the pride flag as the official city flag is a perfectexample of falling into the behaviors that divide us and pit citizens against citizens. I think you are only hearing the few loudest voices. I love and support the LGBTQIA communityhowever I do not think it is the place of the city government to adopt the pride flag as the official city flag. The city adopting this as the official flag will isolate and alienatemembers of the community and it will pit citizens against citizens. There is nothing about the current flag of the city that isolates or alienates community members so changing the flag will only further divide us.
