Dear Bozeman City Commissioners,Before voting on the decision to violate HB 819, consider the facts I list below and think about
the consequences of your decision.
- The Section 1 of the Hb 819 says:"(1) Government property, including state buildings and grounds, public schools, and other
government-owned facilities, should serve neutral governmental functions and not be used topromote political or ideological advocacy.
(2) The United States flag and other officially recognized governmental flags represent thecollective identity, heritage, and sovereignty of the nation, state, and local entities and should
be the primary symbols displayed on government property. (3) Allowing nongovernmental or politically charged symbols on state property creates
inconsistency in enforcement, legal challenges, and public divisiveness, undermining theneutrality and inclusivity of government spaces."
The city of Missoula, for the sake of virtue-signaling to a few attention seekers, decided toignore these obvious truths and make the "Pride" flag their official city flag. So far, Missoula
taxpayers have been reluctant to pursue legal action against the city, but this doesn't mean thatthe city of Missoula acted legally and ethically, nor does it imply that no legal action will be
taken in the future.
- If you are paying attention to reality, you must notice that the flag you want to be displayedon taxpayers-owned property represents the ideology that most Americans, including many
gays and lesbians, consider as misogyny, homophobia, medical fraud and the most horrificcase of child abuse since the Holocaust. The private sector abandoned the "Pride" month not
because they were afraid of Trump's administration but because they knew that most peopleare fed-up with anything 'trans' and they were fearful of losing their customers.
- HB819 is a well-written law that obligates local governments in Montana to stay within
their constitutional limits and bans them from enforcing ordinances that lead to division anddiscrimination. Virtue-signaling to misogynistic, anti-family, homophobic, and anti-scientific
ideology discriminates against all taxpayers with self-esteem high enough to not reducethemselves to their sexual orientation and delusional beliefs about genders. The longer you
continue showing your views down everyone's throats, the more intolerance and division youinduce in the city, the more likely the MSU and the city will lose federal and state money
and/or face expensive lawsuits.
- I'm sure you'll hear a lot more arguments in support of the decision to violate HB 819 thanagainst it. However, you should not make the mistake of believing that trans activists represent
the majority of the Bozeman. Not to mention that the USA is a constitutional republic. It's notthe tyranny of the majority, nor the tyranny of the minority, and definitely not the tyranny of a
few government officials who believe their positions put them above the law. The lawobligates you to stay within your constitutional limits and bans you from enforcing ordinances
that lead to division and discrimination. Bozeman has an official flag that represents ourcollective identity, heritage, and vision. Bozeman residents and private businesses who believe
that the "Pride" flag represents them better are free to display it on their private property. Thegovernment must remain neutral and respectful of all.
Sincerely,
Anna Shchemelinin

Bozeman has an official flag that represents our collective identity, heritage, and vision. "Pride" flag is politically
charged. It promotes the ideology that is divisive, anti-scientific, misogynistic, and homophobic. Do not violate HB
819. Taxpayers-owned property is not the place to promote this or any other ideological or political view. Please
read the attached document for more info.
