I’ll start by saying that we aren’t IN the city of Bozeman, but as Gallatin County residents we
do shop, and use city businesses- our shopping dollars are significant and support localmerchants.
We do not think a city/town should display any flags that are not national or state symbols.
An apolitical atmosphere is highly preferred. We STRONGLY OPPOSE a pride flag beingadopted as part of the identity of Bozeman.
Whom and how you love, share intimacy with is a private matter and should NOT be a public
city identity. Whether or not youascribe to any of the letters used to represent your sexual identity- waving your preferences as
a cultural and political symbol as a civic stamp is digressive to the definition of “community”and should be held to your property - not everyone is of the shared expression. If the Pride flag
is run up the pole then so should be religious, multi cultural, multiracial, ethno-nationalgroups. Where do we end the division of peoples?
The Pride movement has caused so much negative impact on people: divisiveness, commercialization of a private life, and “unnormalizing” something you are born with.
No, A BIG NO to this nonsense. Only the American and state flag should represent Bozeman.
I cannot support this and should it be enacted will respond with the only way I can byrethinking every cent I spend in Bozeman. I will not bring my annual visitors to local
restaurants, bars, shops, vendors. I will buy tires, cars, grocery’s, and clothing elsewhere. Iwill dine in smaller peripheral areas. Small business day in Bozeman was the day I did ALL of
my Christmas shopping. That will end too. My economic withdrawal may not mean much butI am sure I am not the only one with such conviction and determination.
