Dear Mayor, Deputy Mayor, And Commissioners-
At the June 3rd City Commission (CC) meeting, Commissioner Madgic suggested atemporary 6 month moratorium on the development of large-scale (35,000 sq ft or larger)
buildings within the Neighborhood Conservation Overlay District (NCOD).
I am in full support of this idea, feel that it is long overdue, and would like to see all othercommissioners support this for a period of 6 months. This pause would allow the UDC Update
to be completed, give staff more time to devote to the UDC, and eliminate some of the anxietyfor residents living in quickly changing locations. When the UDC is fully updated, staff will
have better tools in hand to help Bozeman grow in harmony with the community's needs anddesires.
Please discuss this at your UDC work session on June 24, '25 and find a way to agree on
approving a temporary, 6 month building moratorium on large projects in the NCOD or betteryet, throughout City limits.
