Dear Commissioners, A couple quick thoughts for you prior to your upcoming meeting. 1) I support Commissioner Madgic's idea of a 6 month moratorium on large-scale development projects within the NCOD. I don't think it makes sense to proceed with thesesorts of things prior to the UDC being completed. I don't know if you're open to it, but I think we should institute a 6 month moratorium on all large scale developments for the whole city. Why not just do that? At the very least, I hope you'll institute a moratorium within the NCOD. 2) I'm very troubled by the idea of revisiting Rob Pertzborn's presentation for the boutique hotel, particularly as a part of the consent agenda. I think there's a basic issue of fairness here. Why does Rob get a do-over on this simply because he thinks he did a bad job on the initial presentation? I can think of all kinds of votes the commission has taken that I'd likereconsidered, but if a citizen wants you to do that they need to pay $2,000, submit an intent to appeal within 5 days of the decision, and then submit an appeal within 10 days of the decision.Rob just has to write a letter explaining that he screwed up his presentation and wants to do it again? And you put it in the consent items? Does Rob have to pay $2000 for that like anyoneelse would? I'll take your word for it that this is allowable, but just because you CAN do this doesn't mean you SHOULD. It's fundamentally unfair. It's not uncommon to hear the commission musing as to how they could build more trust withthe community. This sort of thing destroys our trust in you -- if you go ahead with this you'll be treating one class of people (developers) differently from another class of people (regularcitizens). Let the developer pay $2000 and lodge an appeal just as anyone else would have to. Before approving the consent agenda, please remove item F.2 (the boutique hotel thing)for all the reasons outlined above. Thank you. Dan KaveneyBozeman, MT -- **Dan Kaveney
