We write to strongly oppose Rezoning Application 25035,Vaquero LandSwap Adjacent to Gallatin Valley Regional Park. We oppose for the following reasons: 1) Precedent for further encroachment with limited public input, threatening other green spaces citywide. 2)Loss of public land buffer around the park 3) Increased density, traffic and safety risks 4) Environmental and Community impact. This land supports stormwater absorption and wildlife. On June 2, the Community Development Board approved this request. Most of us did not know of this vote or moreof us would have voiced our opposition. We are doing that now. We know we cannot change the plan for theoriginal 36 lots, but the remaining 8 need to be stopped. It is my understanding that the developer needs those 8 lotsto make the project financially viable. He obviously didn’t do his homework when planning this project and we, asneighbors, should not be penalized for his mistake. We moved here in part because of this city’s parks and trails. We know Bozeman is growing and new developmentis inevitable. However, our parks and trails are what make Bozeman unique. Let’s not lose sight of that. Thank you, Joe Cahalan
