I appreciate all the time and work you do for Bozeman. I hope you can
help with this important issue about preserving open space as Bozeman
grows at an incredible pace.
The proposed rezoning (via sale or land swap) of a portion of Gallatin
Regional Park is a terrible idea and a disservice to Bozeman's people.
Please do not take any action that would reduce our amount of park-space green-space/ open-space in any way. We have massive housing
development and so more people are using our parks. The regional park
is an important gathering and relaxing place for all in this area. More and
more people are using it every year. Reducing it in any way would causemore pressure on the wildlife & natural systems that it supports. With all
our growth, we only have one chance to preserve our open spaces. Cities
that made an effort to preserve open space enjoy it forever. We cannot go
back and undo the loss once it is done. Imagine if New york had allowedcentral park to be built up and shrunk. We cannot lose any of our
designated park area as the density & population increase. Please
preserve ALL of the current open space and designated park area at
Gallatin regional park for the wellbeing of residents & wildlife alike. Pleasehelp keep Bozeman a place that is enjoybable for living and that
encourages healthy outdoor time for kids and adults alike. This is vital and
irrepairable if done wrong.
Thank you for your dedication and time keeping this town livable and
enjoyable,
