June 13, 2025; 7:00am (Please place the following public comment in the Historic Preservation Advisory Board (HPAB) folder and distribute to all HPAB members in time for their June 18 meeting. Thankyou.) Historic Preservation Advisory Board (HPAB): I am writing to ask the HPAB to add the following topic as an Action Item to their June 18 meeting: Proposed Action item: Please vote to recommend to the City Commission your support ofCommissioner Jennifer Madgic's recent (June 3) suggestion to enact a pause (i.e., a temporary moratorium) on large building development (>= 35,000 sq ft buildings) within theNCOD until the NCOD regulations are updated as part of the UDC update process. In my view, the Bozeman community needs this pause to craft tools to manage building mass andscale and to rework the zoning map to ensure development entitlements match community desires. I note that Commissioner Madgic's June 3 suggestion to enact a pause on large buildingdevelopment within the NCOD will be discussed as part of the Commission's June 24 work session on the UDC update. Consequently, it is important for the HPAB to vote on June 18to support such a pause. Thank you for considering this request. Daniel Carty 213 N. 3rd Ave Bozeman, MT 59715
