To whom it may concern, This email serves as a protest towards the rezoning of the Gallatin Regional Park. The park provides a much needed and much loved piece of open space in the heart of the increasinglycongested residential area of Bozeman. It sees multi-use traffic day in and day out throughout the year and is a key meeting point and free space for our community. The expansiveness ofthe park and freedom to roam for kids, pets, and adults is a key part of what makes Gallatin Regional such a special spot in town. The proposed multi-story residential property will strip away a large swath of park land that isvalued by so many in the community. Not only that, but it will lower surrounding property values, block views, and tarnish what has been a staple in the community for years. It willsupersede the communal interest of the many for that of that of the few. I understand that it is technically private property but zoned as parkland and that it reflects a "plan agreed to longago." However, I would encourage the commission to reconsider as times and needs may have changed since the plan was first put in place. With a current vacancy rate of 12.5% (see "Vacancy Rate in Bozeman Could Rise" fromKBZK) within Bozeman, the already booming multi-family housing development, and the still unaffordable rates of rent and home prices, I do not see how taking park land is beneficial tothe community. It is a sad trend for a city when green spaces and public good are superseded by the interests of developers. Thank you for your time and consideration. Cara Redalen
