To Whom It May Concern, My name is William Poss, and I am writing to you regarding a concern about the proposed development at the Gallatin County Regional Park that was voted on by the Zoning Commission on June 2 and is scheduled to be reviewed by the City Commission on June 17. I won't be able to attend the scheduled meeting, so I am sending you this email instead. As a Bozeman resident, the Gallatin County Regional Park is one of the best parts of this city. The Park is used every day by thousands of residents for exercising, dog walking, and general leisure. Not only does the Park provide an escape from the housing and commercial developments that have expanded everywhere, but it serves as a reminder of why we all live in Bozeman, which is for access to outdoor spaces and the natural beauty of the surrounding areas. I run through this park almost every morning during the warmer months, and the proposed development and rezoning would ruin what makes Gallatin County Regional Park so great. The unobstructed views of the Bridgers and large open space would be severely diminished, and the character of the Park would be destroyed. The Gallatin County Regional Park is one of the highlights I show my friends and family when they visit as an example of the wonderful city planning, but this proposed development threatens that joy just so that a developer can build more overpriced townhomes. Not to mention the death and destruction of habitat for the many animals that now live in that area. There are plenty of other spaces to build around town that won't destroy one of Bozeman's most treasured public land use areas, and I encourage you to reject the development proposal. Sincerely, William Poss
