HomeMy WebLinkAbout008_GravelMaintenancePlanGRAVEL MAINTENANCE PLAN 8/ 16/24 PROJECT NO. 21363.01 August 2024 Project No. 21363.01 GRAVEL MAINTENANCE PLAN FOR SIMKINS-HALLIN BOZEMAN, MONTANA OVERVIEW NARRATIVE The purpose of this maintenance plan is to outline the necessary details related to maintaining the integrity of the gravel surfaces at Simkins-Hallin. Gravel surfacing has been proposed for the southwest corner of Simkins-Hallin Tract 2B & 4B site. Proposed Gravel surfaces will be placed over the top of a geotextile throughout the project to prevent the migration and mixing of soil and gravel surfaces leading to a longer lasting surface. Specific site information and criteria are described below: 1.Inspection and Assessment of Gravel Surfaces •Inspections of gravel surfaces will be conducted seasonally to assess for potholes, erosion, dust build-up, and drainage problems. II.Maintenance, and Replacement Schedule •Routine maintenance will be conducted seasonally on all gravel surfaces located within the Simkins-Hallin site. Routine maintenance will include regrading surfaces to ensure integrity of the surface and remove any seasonal wear. Additionally, the surface will be rolled to maintain proper compaction. •Moisture management will be conducted during the summer if during surface inspections it is noted that there is a build up of dust and fine particles in the surface. Moisture will be controlled with the spraying of water along with rolling the surface of the gravel.
