Dear Derek,
Northwestern Energy is willing and able to provide natural gas and electric service to the MEADOW
BRIDGE PROJECT which includes forty-five (45) residential units. These services can be provided in
accordance with applicable Montana Public Services rules and regulations and the current
Northwestern Energy tariff schedule. Please note that the nearest natural gas/electric is at the
intersection Parkway Ave and Blackwood Rd
Northwestern Energy shall determine the locations of all transformers, underground lines and equipment
to provide for maintenance and installation. These facilities shall be located on front lot lines in a
minimum 10’ wide utility easement.
Please call or email me if you have any questions or concerns at (406) 223-6498. Also, we require
having a copy of the approved plat of this proposed area prior to providing a cost to bring in these
services. If installation is required prior to approval of the plat, it will be your responsibility to keep us
informed of any changes which would alter our utility design and installation. To request a cost estimate
we would also require a signed application for new service along with an electronic layout of the
subdivision.

Derek,
This is in our BZ001 footprint which is already in service. We will be able to provide services to the
development contingent on us obtaining additional financing for infill, which we are currently in the
process of doing (planning on closing before end of 2024). Please include us on any Open Trench
notifications as getting conduit into the project while a joint trench is open will allow us to serve the
individual lots at a reasonable cost of construction.

Hope you are doing well! I am planning a residential project near 19th and Blackwood in Bozeman and plan to
submit the preliminary plat for the project around the end of this year. A requirement of the City submittal
process is that we obtain “will serve” letters from the utility companies that they will provide services to the
proposed project. I have attached a vicinity map of the project and the current site plan showing the lot
layout. Would you provide me with an email confirming that you can or cannot provide services to this

Blackfoot Communications does have fiber optic cables on 19th Ave., however there would be a charge to bring the

Recently you approached CenturyLink/Lumen about providing a “Will Serve” letter to serve a new
development Meadow Bridge Subdivision – Bozeman, MT. Lumen appreciates the opportunity to
provide this development with its future communications needs.
In response to the request for a commitment to serve, Lumen will work with you to determine what the
construction needs will be. Upon such determination, Lumen will undertake an analysis of the
construction required and the cost to complete that construction. It is only at that point and given the
prevailing Tariffs that Lumen will make a final determination regarding whether to provide service. We
do have facilities within the area of your project, and we do have the capacity to provide phone and
internet services.
As you may or may not know, many of the telecommunications services provided by Lumen are
regulated and the service you request will be provided for under the tariffs on file with the Montana
Public Service Commission.

Thank you for your interest in receiving Charter service. The purpose of this letter
is to confirm that the Property is within an area that Charter may lawfully serve.
However, it is not a commitment to provide service to the Property. Prior to any
determination as to whether service can or will be provided to the Property,
Charter will conduct a survey of the Property and will need the following
information from you:
- Exact site address and legal description
- Site plans, blueprints, plat maps or any similar data
- The location of any existing utilities or utility easements
- Breaking ground date
- Crossing date
- Joint trench date
- Joint trench contractor
- Expected 1st move-in date
Upon receipt, a Charter representative will be assigned to you to work through
the process. Ultimately, a mutually acceptable service agreement for the
Property will be required and your cooperation in the process is appreciated.
