Hi Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Commissioners, and Community Development Department, I want to lend support to Commissioner Madgic's proposed idea of a moratorium on large developments in the NCOD. Just temporary, as allowed by state law. And just applying tolarge structures, only those larger than 35,000 sq. ft. Large projects have large impacts. I think this is necessary for several reasons. 1. It will show the community you are sympathetic to their anxiety about redevelopment.Show them you are listening, please! 2. It will give us time to craft tools that regulate mass and scale of development in our coreneighborhoods, that are the gem of our small city. Things like parcel assembly for example.3. It will give us time to discuss as a community changes in state law that will affect our ability to regulate development in B-2M and the B-3 zones.4. It will give us time to adjust the zoning map to make sure it aligns with residents desires. 5. It shows we can learn from our mistakes. Leaving the first version of the AHO on the table while it was being rewritten was a mistake. It allowed for the Guthrie version 2 toslip in without the greater affordability required under the revised AHO. That entire project is an abomination on many levels, but the lack of affordability is probably thebiggest gut-punch in the whole package! I myself do not live in the NCOD, so I can support this objectively. Thank you CommissionerMadgic for suggesting this. Thank you Commissioner Fischer for coming around to its potential after a minute; stay strong, it is the right thing to do. Hopefully just one more ofyou can find it in your heart and head to support residents right now. Thank you, Alison B. Sweeney Bernadette's Handmade JewelryBozeman MT 406-404-5740alison-bernadettes.com
