Business
The Montana State Small Business Credit Initiative 2.0 Loan Participation
Program application portal for remaining Tranche Three funds closes at midnight
on June 30, 2025. Participating lenders who have funds available for recycling must
access those funds prior to applying for the remaining Tranche Three funds. This is
expected to be the final round of SSBCI funding. Future opportunities will be supported
through recycled SSBCI 2.0 funds as loans are repaid.
The Montana State Small Business Credit Initiative 2.0 Loan Participation
Program-Recycled Funds application is now open and will remain so for the
duration of the program, with capital availability contingent on repayments from existing
borrowers. A list of participating lenders with funds for recycling can be found on
the SSBCI webpage.
Native American Collateral Support Program funding available: The NACS
Program is currently accepting applications; $116,763.43 in cash funding is available.
For more information, contact Program Specialist Chris Ryan at chris.ryan@mt.gov or

The Wood Products Revolving Loan Fund has temporarily paused acceptance of
new applications as we move through the administrative rulemaking process. The
proposed ARM guidelines were published on May 23, 2025, by the Secretary of State’s
Office; a public hearing is scheduled for June 10, 2025. To view the Notice of Proposal,
visit: ARM Proposal Notice.
We’re committed to ensuring the program continues to serve Montana’s wood products
industry effectively and will share further updates as they become available.
Housing
Montana Board of Housing Public Meeting: June 9, 2025.
Montana Board of Housing Public Meeting: July 14, 2025.
CDBG-Housing, HOME Investment Partnerships Program and National Housing
Trust Fund applications are due September 17, 2025. Commerce will have up to
$3,150,000 in CDBG-Housing funds to award, $2,713,000 in HOME, and $2,821,000 in
HTF, with award decisions to be announced in November. The combined HOME and
HTF application guidelines are available on the HOME or HTF web pages. An updated
Uniform Application has also been posted.
New CDBG-Housing Application Guidelines for housing development and
rehabilitation will be available for public comment this summer. The newly proposed
guidelines are simplified and similar to the HOME and HTF application guidelines.
Infrastructure and Planning
Community Development Block Grant income survey training is set for June 9,
2025, at 1 p.m. via Zoom. Proposed CDBG projects must show at least 51 percent of
the community served is low- to moderate-income. One of the ways CDBG applicants
can demonstrate compliance with the low- and moderate-income requirements for the
program is to complete an income survey. This training will discuss the process for
determining if a project needs an income survey, the acceptable income survey
formats and the Commerce approval process.
