Hello,
I have become aware that the Centennial Park and Bon Ton Districts have asked the city to
change their zoning from R-4 to R-A. I am writing to say that I oppose this change that wouldreduce the amount of development allowed. Both of these districts are in the center of
Bozeman, where increased density is necessary for responsible growth. I am worried thatlimiting the growth in these areas would just push the growth into other neighborhoods away
from the downtown area, or to areas just outside of Bozeman. This would lead to sprawl, increased traffic into the city, and a reduction in nearby open space and wildlife habitat. I do
not think that this is responsible.I currently live in the Jandt neighborhood in Bozeman. I believe we all have a shoulder some
of the burden of the growth of our town. Allowing these neighborhoods to be exempt fromthat would be a bad precedent to set for the rest of us.
Thank you,
