To the Bozeman Planning Department,
My name is Janalynn Wong and I am a resident of the Meadow Creek subdivision. I
am writing to voice my objection to the planned development of the above referenced
property that borders Meadow Creek.
This is a high density development of affordable units. While I acknowledge the need
for affordable housing in Bozeman, this is not an appropriate location for such a
development for several reasons. First, affordable housing should be placed near
essential services such as grocery stores, medical providers and employers. That is
not the case with this proposed location. Further, there is no public transportationavailable to provide access to far away services. Second, the roads and other
infrastructure in this area are not sufficient to handle the increased use that would
result from adding the number of residents projected to live in this development.
Third, this area which had been largely agricultural, has already been over developedby the ongoing construction of Buffalo Run, another high density development
bordering the applicant. Fourth, the developer intends to offer less parking than
ordinarily required leading to congestion from parked cars on the neighborhood
streets and safety concerns for children.
I urge the Planning Department to relocate this development to a more central and
suitable site that will allow easier access to essential services.
