As Bozeman homeowners since 1975, we have witnessed Bozeman as a wonderful place to
live. We also recognize how difficult it has now become for many people to find affordable housing
in this rapidly growing community. This project certainly addresses that need.
While this project addresses that need, it’s proposed location has fatal flaws. It will put folks who
could be disadvantaged already at greater disadvantages for these reasons:
• There are no services available within 3.5 miles for basic needs like groceries.
• Available emergency and regular medical services are at a greater distance away
• Schools are not within walking distance.
• Public transportation is not available
• There are no convience stores or gas stations serving the immediate area
Common sense dictates that this project would best serve the people whose needs are targeted, if
it located built near available needed services.
The proposed develop is adjacent to “Buffalo Run” that will be luxury housing, and Meadow Creek
subdivision, that includes homes whose current values exceed the average price of Boseman’s
single family homes. This project could negatively impact the future value of these homes. This is a
set up that could lead to conflicts between new and existing residents.
Approval impacts the adjacent infrastructure that is not designed to handle the increased traffic,
posing a safety risk for children and families in Meadow Creek using Meah to access the park
directly east of this proposed development. Poor water pressure delivered to our homes in Meadow
Creek is an ongoing problem. What plans are in place to address this issue for this project, and
Buffalo Run?
It is great concern to my wife and I as well as many Bozeman residents, that developers dictate to
our city council and planners what they want to build and where. We do not see evidence that
neither the council or planners appear to care how these projects impact adjacent homeowners or
the integrity of neighborhoods. In addition there does not appear to be common sense planning to
put in place infrastructure to handle the needs and impacts of development like this on the edge of
town on an island.
We strongly oppose approval of this project in this location. We do support this project and the
service it would provide to serve low income folks. We would hope that wisdom and common
sense would prevail to put it in a location where access to basic services are available. Thus, not
further negatively impacting the lives of potential residents as this proposed location would.
Respectfully submitted,
