Subject: 5532 Fowler Annex; File # 24-492
You don't often get email from osha@comcast.net. Learn why this is important
I am writing to comment on the above-referenced proposed subdivision. I am opposed to thissubdivision based on the location. There is currently a rather large development, Buffalo Run,under construction adjacent to the north of 5532 Fowler and a proposed/subdivision whichwill front on Kurk and 27th St.It would appear that Kurk Dr, a narrow residential street will suddenly have to handle a muchlarger volume of traffic due to these three subdivisions. I would not believe that it is capableof this increased volume of traffic. On the same subject, Meah Lane, located on the East end of 5532 Fowler has been approvedas an egress point for this proposed subdivision. Meah Lane was not designed and is notcapable of handling a large volume of traffic. 5532 Fowler proposes to build 298 residences. The streets in the Meadow Creek Subdivison, in their current state, do not appear to be capableof handling these volumes of traffic, safely, nor does the proposed development address any
improvements to roads and sidewalks to allow them to handle the increased volumes. As this development is being proposed as affordable housing, it would seem that the location,
not within a reasonable distance from services (grocery, gas, medical, public transportation, etc.) could be a hardship for the families purchasing or renting homes there.
The difference, in values, between the existing low-density homes and the proposed high-density development could cause economic harm in the future to the existing Meadow Creek
Subdivision homeowners.I believe that affordable housing is of great need across this country and a solution needs to be
found. However, I don't believe approval of this subdivision will do anything to greatlyimprove the housing affordability situation in Bozeman.
Best Regards,Charles and Deborah Widger
