Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Commissioners, and Community Development Department, I am writing to express my support for the Bon Ton neighborhood's Rezoning Proposal. When I remodeled a structure attached to my modest historically contributing house on South3rd Avenue five years ago, I added a dwelling unit - within the existing footprint. The rental income that resulted made it more affordable for me to stay in Bozeman while providingaffordable housing to someone else who works here. It is possible to honor the historic nature of the Bon Ton District and increase density. In fact, many structures within the R-4 zonedarea of the Bon Ton already provide multi-family housing. That's why I'm asking you now to rezone the small area of the Bon ton Historic District from R-4 to RA under the new UDC. Itwould still allow an appropriate level of increased density, similar to my own, while enabling preservation of the buildings, architecture, stories and landscape of one of the most renownedhistoric districts in Bozeman. Thank you, Jeanne Carter
