Mangold - Support for Centennial Park and Bon Ton neighborhood zoning proposalsFrom:Jane Mangold To:Bozeman Public Comment Cc:Joey Morrison; Douglas Fischer; Emma Bode; Jennifer Madgic; Terry Cunningham; Erin George Subject:[EXTERNAL]Support for Centennial Park and Bon Ton neighborhood zoning proposals Date:Monday, May 19, 2025 8:12:38 PM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. I live on North Tracy Avenue and am one of the co-authors of the Centennial Park Neighborhood Conservation in Action proposal. I’d like to thank you and the city staff for your work and deliberation throughout the UDC update process. A special thank you to Chris Saunders for taking the time to meet with me in April and his follow up communication with our neighborhood representatives to keep us informed of the process. I trust that you are familiar with our proposal and addendum--as well as that of the Bon Ton Neighborhood--stating our case for R-A zoning in the UDC, so I will not spend this precious space dwelling on those details. Instead, I want to share that we have worked diligently in researching, organizing and creating a resident-led vision for our neighborhood. We have done what I hope every mayor, deputy mayor, and city commissioner would desire from their constituents—being engaged, conversing with our neighbors, and advocating for our future. My understanding is that you will provide direction on whether you’re willing to consider individual rezoning proposals like that of Centennial Park and the Bon Ton neighborhoods as part of the UDC project or whether you prefer individual Zone Map Amendment applications. I urge you to consider our proposals as part of the UDC update. Collectively, we have already spent 100s of hours to arrive at this point. As of the writing of this public comment, between the Centennial Park and Bon Ton neighborhood proposals there are 121 public comments in support of our requests, and as far as I know, no objections. We are everyday citizens who work, raise families, walk our dogs, support our local businesses, and serve our neighbors and this community in a variety of ways. Please, at this important juncture of Bozeman’s past and future, honor and respect the desire of people who live in Bozeman and help to make this city a desirable place to live. Respectfully submitted, Jane Mangold
