To the Commissioners, You have an opportunity to change the zoning of a very small section of the Bon Ton Historical District from R4 to R2. I believe that most residents ofBozeman think that this core neighborhood has the protection of the R2 zoning. Within the few block area there are numerous multi-family apartments that provide actual affordablehousing. Once these are grandfathered at their density, but not tempting for demolition, many renters will be able to stay in the area. On the 200 block of S. 3rd, a rented home wasdemolished and 2 new townhouses replaced it. Those initially sold for $1.5 million each and one unit was recently re-sold for $2 million. This is what happens when NOAH disappears. With the change from R1 to R2 this area will achieve the incremental growth that maintainsthe scale and beauty it has now. This section deserves the full protection and continuity with the surrounding neighborhoods. Once it's gone we'll never get it back so please honor thehistory of Bozeman and allow the full Bon Ton District to be zoned R2 Thank you, Mary Lou Osman
