Dear Commissioners,
I am writing to encourage you all to please honor and approve the neighborhood-level zoning
change our Bon Ton neighborhood has put forth before you.
The Bendon Adams report addresses, quite clearly, what our neighborhood has been
realizing/is now expressing, that there is a large disconnect between what used to be
considered "dense" development within a residential neighborhood, and what is now the
actual lot and height maximizing development driven by a developer's financial bottom line.
It is a fact our Gallatin Valley, let alone our inner Bozeman neighborhoods, are inherently
losing their character because of the scale, building materials, and pace at which things are
being built.
A Sense of Place can not simply be built, it takes generations of people and their
relationships with one another, and to their community, to layer in that Sense of Place -- yet it
only takes one five story, multi unit building, maximized in all directions, to degenerate what
once was a close, core neighborhood.
Sincerely,
Laura Fedro
