Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Commissioners, and Community Development Department, I'm writing today to express my support for the Bon Ton neighborhood's Rezoning Proposal. Having more consistent zoning across the entire historic district will allow for moreappropriate infill development in keeping with the character of this part of our city. When our home, which is located in the Bon Ton Historic District, was renovated in 2006 the emphasis on historic preservation superseded the zoning classification and was the main focusby the city when approving our renovation. This additional oversight is why the Bon Ton Historic District has been able to maintain its unique history, character and diversity. With Historic Preservation not having the same level of importance in the proposed UDCupdate it is important to allow neighborhood level zoning change where the majority of homeowners are in support of and in this case the rezoning is consistent with adjacent zoningproviding continuity of zoning across their neighborhoods. The Bon Ton Rezoning Proposal is what I view as an update to a zoning classification that is necessary because the historic preservation oversight will no longer be a driving force guidingdevelopment in the Bon Ton or any other designated historic district. Thank You, James Klabunde410 S. Grand Ave Bozeman
