Hello Commissioners and staff,
I understand there may be some consideration on Tuesday May 20th of the neighborhood
rezoning proposals for both Centennial Park and the Bon Ton neighborhoods.
I would like to recommend in the strongest terms possible, that you honor NEIGHBORHOODLEVEL zoning change proposals in the UDC update. Please differentiate this from single
developer owned parcels or lots requesting increased development entitlement through zoningchanges as part of the UDC update.
These two requests are very different.
One is completely grass roots, resident-led, from a desire to conserve a community and a
cultural resource that belongs to the city as a whole. Neighborhoods are assets to this city! Their residents deserve predictability and some measure of autonomy over how they grow and
develop over time.
The other is motivated by profit and a desire to circumvent the due process of a zone mapamendment set out by law.
