Dear Captain Swanson and Officer Sanders,
I want to extend my sincere thanks for the opportunity to participate in the Citizens' PoliceAcademy. It has been an incredibly informative and eye-opening experience. I am genuinely
grateful for the chance to better understand the department’s operations and critical role in theBozeman community.
Each session has provided valuable insights into the day-to-day responsibilities, challenges,
and dedication required of your officers and staff. I especially appreciated the professionalism, openness, and enthusiasm with which the department shared information and engaged with
participants.
This program has given me a newfound appreciation for the work you do to ensure the safetyand well-being of our community. The Bozeman Police Department is clearly deeply
committed to public service, transparency, and building strong relationships with the peopleyou serve.
Given the depth of understanding this program provides, I strongly believe that participation in
the Citizens' Police Academy should be a requirement for all city commissioners.Experiencing firsthand the complexity and scope of law enforcement operations would give
our elected leaders a much richer, more informed perspective when making decisions thatimpact public safety and community relations.
Thank you again for including me in this informative program. I look forward to continuing to
support the department and sharing what I’ve learned with others in our community.
With gratitude,
Rory
