Dear City of Bozeman Planning Department, My name is Jack Greer, and I’m a student at Gallatin High School and resident of Bozeman who deeply cares about the future of our city’s natural environment. I am currently workingon a project focused on the importance of conserving green space in Bozeman, especially as our community continues to grow rapidly. Over the past few years, I’ve noticed the increasing development and loss of natural areas that once gave Bozeman its unique charm and quality of life. It is essential that we takestronger steps to preserve existing green spaces and ensure that new developments include accessible natural areas for residents and wildlife. The proposals I would like to share with your team are as follows; Strengthen and enforce zoning laws to protect existing green space. Increase funding for conservation programslike Gallatin Valley Land Trusts to secure more land through easements. Lastly, mandatory green spaces in all new developments. Most importantly, I am interested in understandinghow I, and others in the community, can support efforts to strengthen land use policies and encourage sustainable growth. Thank you for the work you do to shape Bozeman’s future. I look forward to hearing from you and would appreciate any opportunity to connect. Jack Greer jackgreer90@gmail.com (406) 451-8578
