Hello,
I’d like to voice my opinion regarding an upcoming matter that will be reviewed by the City Commission - City-
Funded Tenant Lawsuits.
The City should not be able to spend taxpayer dollars to fund lawsuits for tenants. The City has enough budget gaps
as it is. Spending taxpayer money to fund one side of a tenant lawsuit is completely unfair.
How would the City decide which lawsuits to fund? Most of them would be a frivolous, irresponsible utilization of
taxpayer money. Will the City spend additional time and money reviewing funding requests? This opens a can of
worms that the City is not qualified for.
The City has no business funding tenant lawsuits.
