COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3375
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, ESTABLISHING SOLID WASTE COLLECTION FEES WITHIN
THE CITY OF BOZEMAN.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Bozeman did adopt Ordinance No.
1493 on the 17th day of May 1999, providing for the billing of solid waste collection fees
on a monthly basis; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance No. 1493 provides for the setting of fees by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED and it is hereby ordered by the Commission
of the City of Bozeman, State of Montana:
Section 1
To defray the estimated cost and expense of collecting and disposing of solid waste
in the City of Bozeman, there is hereby established a schedule of fees to be levied upon all
users of the City's solid waste collection system and those not served by a licensed private
solid waste collection service, as set forth in Schedule II A", attached hereto, and by this
reference made a part hereof.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana,
at a regular session thereof held on the 5th day of September 2000.

SCHEDULE A
Solid Waste Collection Fees, based on a 3D-day month,
Effective on the October 1, 2000 billing
Except for B., Tag Fees, all rates are monthly.
A. BASE RATE
Base rate per dwelling unit for all residential properties within
the city which are serviced by the City of Bozeman or not
serviced by any other private contractor licensed by the
Montana Public Service Commission for solid waste collection
and transportation

by the City of Bozeman
B. TAG FEES
For non-automated accounts, tag fees shall be as follows:
Mini-container (18-20 gallon capacity,
up to 20 Ibs.)

up to 30 Ibs.)

The City's solid waste crew will pick up only tagged solid waste on their regular routes;
and the tags will be removed.
C. OPTIONAL/IMPOSED FLAT RATE DUMPSTER FEE
Optional/imposed flat rate dumpster fee for property owners who apply for that payment
option or upon whom the flat fee is imposed by the City Commission for non-compliance with
the tag system, shall be as follows:
$15.00 base rate
plus
$14.82 per cubic yard of dumpster capacity
(based on once per week pick-up)
plus
$17.35 per additional pickup per week
Whenever speciality materials, as identified in the City's current landfill schedule,
exceed 50 percent of the dumpster's contents, then the per cubic yard of dumpster capacity
dollar amount shall be increased in accordance with the specialty materials landfill fees
established in the current landfill schedule.
D. FLAT FEE FOR NON-TAGGED CANS
The flat rate fee for those property owners that utilize solid waste cans and upon whom
the flat fee is imposed by the City Commission for non-compliance with the tag system shall be
determined as follows:

E. COMMERCIAL BASE RATE DUMPSTER FEES
Base rate fees for commercial accounts using the tag system shall be determined as
follows:
$15.00 base rate
F. OPTIONAL COMMERCIAL FLAT RATE DUMPSTER FEES
In lieu of the tag system, commercial account flat rate dumpster fees shall be
determined as follows:
$15.00 base rate
plus
$14.82 per cubic yard of dumpster capacity
(based on once per week pickup)
plus
$17.35 per additional pickup per week
Whenever speciality materials, as identified in the City's current landfill schedule,
exceed 50 percent of the dumpster's contents, then the per cubic yard of dumpster capacity
dollar amount shall be increased in accordance with the specialty materials landfill fees
established in the current City of Bozeman landfill gate schedule.
G. AUTOMA TED COLLECTION SYSTEM FEES
For those accounts on the automated collection system, the fees shall be as follows:
Weeklv collection:
35-gallon tote $ 8.10
65-gallon tote 10.45
100-gallon tote 13.25
Monthlv collection:
35-gallon tote $ 6.00
Explanatory note. On the monthly bill, each customer shall pay the applicable base rate
(A) and, if not on the tag system, either the (C) optional/imposed flat rate dumpster fee, (D) flat
fee for non-tagged cans, (E) commercial base rate dumpster fees, (F) optional commercial flat
rate dumpster fees or (G) automated collection system fees.
